Thinking of a new Discord nickname doesn’t have to be too hard, as in this guide, we’re going to show you some cool ideas that’ll hopefully kickstart your imagination and provide some inspiration! We’re going to take a look at all sorts of ideas, from various ways to embellish your ideas to cool tricks that’ll help it stand out. Ready to get started? Let’s begin!
1. Add Embellishments
Why not add some embellishments around your nickname? They can be a great way to add a unique twist to nicknames in general, and can really help bring them to life! If you combine embellishments with aesthetic and fancy text fonts, you’ve got yourself a great way to come up with nicknames! Here’s an example of a nickname with some very cool embellishments:

As you can see from these embellishments, they can really add a lovely touch to your nickname overall!
2. Include Brackets
Adding brackets around a nickname can also be a popular way to embellish nicknames. These brackets are often found in nicknames within aesthetic servers, but have been greatly popularised across most Discord servers these days. There’s a huge variety to choose from, and I’d recommend perusing all the options you have available at text symbol sites (I discuss this further below). You could add some cool brackets around the entire nickname as so:

Or, if you prefer, you could add brackets around each individual character too:

3. Create A Nickname From An Emotion/Status
You could convert the name of an emotion to a nickname pretty easily! Simply type the predominant emotion you’re currently feeling into an aesthetic text generator, such as “2 tired” or “over the moon” into an aesthetic text generator, and you’ll get a plethora of results where aesthetic fonts are applied to your chosen words! It can be a whole lot of fun to try out, and could make for a server nickname too!
4. Add Text Symbols
Why not add some text symbols to your nickname in order to add a fun twist? There are all sorts of text symbols you could add to your nickname, from cool arrow symbols to chess symbols to cute heart symbols and everything else in between. These text symbols can make a lovely replacement for regular emoji, and you can create all sorts of fun and interesting combinations too! Some examples of text symbols include:

5. Text Emoticons
While regular emoji have largely replaced text emoticons, for the most part, text emoticons can add a fun and retro twist to a nickname! I’m a huge fan of these overall, and prefer them to regular emoji sometimes too! They can be more expressive, especially for those of us who may remember when emoji weren’t around and we had to simulate smileys with text emoticons instead! You can find a huge array of these here, which is a fantastic resource overall!
6. Random Capitalization
If you want to add some sarcasm to your nickname, you could so so via random capitalization. All you need to do is randomly capitalize various letters in the words within the nickname, and you’re all done! If you’d like to automate this or do this much more quickly, you can try random capitalization tools, which do this for you. To make use of these tools, simply enter your text or chosen nickname into the tool, and after submitting this, it should randomly capitalize the text for you!
7. Aesthetic Fonts
Recently, nicknames with aesthetic fonts have been trending on Discord! I’ve encountered countless users with cool, aesthetic fonts for their nicknames within servers, and I’ve always been a huge fan of this overall. You could apply old-fashioned, gothic fonts to your text, or retro, monospaced fonts too! It’s all up to your preferences, some of my personal favourites include the cursive fonts and classic monospace fonts too! 8. Use Nickname Finder Sites
There are all sorts of sites out there, which feature Discord nicknames that can inspire you! While the aim of this guide was to help you generate your own Discord nicknames, these sites give direct nicknames that might inspire you with your own nickname! One of my favourites is NickFinder, which allows you to peruse the most popular nicknames added to the site. You might find some nifty ideas there, so I’d recommend taking a look!
9. Replace Letters With Symbols
You could also replace a few letters in your nickname with symbols for a fun twist! For example, the letter “a” could be replaced with the @ symbol, which makes for a fun way to add some unique flair to your nickname. Other ideas could include:
The letter e could be replaced with the number 3 The letter y could be replaced with the symbol ϟ
By replacing some of the letters in your nickname with numbers or symbols, you’ll have some great and fun combinations overall!
10. Add Emoji
You could intersperse some fun emoji throughout your nickname too for a dynamic flair. If you’re wondering which emoji to add, this can depend on which are your favourites! I like to intersperse my favourite emoji throughout my Discord nicknames. Or you could add some emoji which are related to the nickname you’ve chosen. If you’re a fan of aesthetics, such as the pink aesthetic, why not add emoji related to that aesthetic to your nickname? I’ve provided some examples of various aesthetics in the image below, along with emoji that would combine well together to recreate that particular aesthetic within your nickname.
